FAQ

Anyone suffering from hair loss can benefit from SMP.
This includes men or women who suffer from male or female pattern baldness (a.k.a. androgenetic alopecia), scarring, burns, birthmarks, or any other reasons for hair loss. SMP works for all ages, all skin types, and all skin colors. If the client’s hair is thinning, or their hairline is receding, SMP will restore their hairline and thicken the appearance of their hair. Men or women can benefit from this kind of treatment.

As I mentioned in after care of SMP for best results you would need the treatment to dry and heal for 4 days after each treatment. So this would mean avoiding sweat, water and any sorts of creams, lotions etc…. After this period you can slowly increase activity and do as you please.

Everyone is different depending on skin types. Usually after couple of hours will de normal. Immediately after treatment our technician will clean your treatment and use an anti-redness topical an aesthetic. The redness may possibly be with you for a day or two typically.

SMP will done in 2-4 sessions. Depends on skin type, hair texture and color.
Minimum of 5 days gaps between sessions.

As everyone’s skin, lifestyle and level of activity differs. Generally a
quality ultra natural looking SMP procedure will last 3 – 5 years or longer with proper care.

No not at all, as the depth of the needle is only into the upper dermis, if anything the treatment has been known to stimulate hair growth. On the contrary needles can help improve hair growth.

Scalp micropigmentation gives the look of a shaven head or a stubble shadow look, the treatment at Creative Scalps will be undetectable, only you, the people you choose to tell and Creative Scalps will know.

In the beginning we can go through some pictures of hairlines and draw some hairlines on you. When choosing hairlines it is always best to play it safe, not going too low on the first session.
Then on the second visit you would have decided how low you want to go and some shape changes design. We can also produce various hairline styles depending on what you like “sharp,ie jagged, soft, slightly receding, edged up, lines and designs” Elish have developed techniques and procedures to ensure your hairline will be in the correct place and suit you and your style.
We are from a beauty therapist background and have years of top level experience to ensure this is done correctly.

This is done according to skin tone and remaining hair colour. No. This is Line of medical tattoo and created for camouflage. We use different pigments, inks, machines, needles and techniques. Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a specialist field of its own and requires a highly experienced technician to achieve great results.

The honest answer is yes you are going to feel discomfort as with any needling procedure. The elation you will feel after solving your hairloss issues will far outweigh any discomfort from treatment.

It’s not as intrusive as a typical skin body art tattoo. Pigment is implanted in the most superficial layer of the skin. We use different equipment and techniques. Some discomfort is felt by 20% of our clients but it’s not unbearable or unachievable.
You are able to lay back relax watch a movie or listen to some
music. (The end result is worth it!)

Absolutely not. If you find that you’re starting to go grey the treatment will look absolutely fine. Because the treatment is classed as semi permanent and will fade a shade or so over some years it can actually blend perfectly. We also scatter pigments carefully blending into the sides and back. For more information please feel to book a FREE consultation with our expert technician.

Scalp micropigmentation can work with almost all hair colours and skin tones because we dilute the pigment. The pigment is carbon based and so when diluted looks very natural on the skin. We dilute through a range of 40 pigment shades and so theres a shade that will suit almost everyone.

The treatment is perfectly safe, we use sterile equipment and brand new packaged needles for every procedure. We take health & safety very seriously and are fully insured and regulated.
Since our pigments we use are vegan the inks are very safe. There is also typically less metals in our pigments in comparison with regular tattoo inks.
We also only apply ink just below the top layer of skin called the epidermis in the upper dermis layer and thus not penetrating your natural barrier and protective layer of skin in the lower dermis.
Your technician is also trained in health and safety, infection control and so will not put the client at any unnecessary risk.

The cost of SMP can vary significantly based on each individuals level of hair loss. You can expect to pay anywhere from 1500 AED per hour. Thats why it’s very important to discuss the treatment in depth with an SMP professional ideally a one on one consultation is always best, these are generally always free of charge. They will be able to assess and advise your level of hair loss and let you know the level of work that’s involved in creating your SMP treatment and they will price accordingly. Some jobs are quite simple 1-4 hours in length, others are more complex and can take up to 10 hours per session and that’s the main factor in the difference of SMP pricing.

There are several steps you can take to ensure that your scalp heals properly after each micropigmentation session. These tips will also be communicated to you by your technician.

1. Do not wash your head for the first 3 days
Your scalp is still sensitive after the operation and if you apply water to your scalp, you can damage it.

2. Make sure you also avoid any physical exertion that could make you sweat. Sweating can prevent the scalp from healing properly, so do not go to the gym or run in the park for at least 5 days.

3. At the same time, keep in mind that you should not be exposed to the sun for up to 10 days from the last micropigmentation procedure. Sunlight contains dangerous ultraviolet rays that can interfere with the healing process of your scalp.
If you go out in the sun to protect your scalp, use a clean, loose hat.

4. You should remember to avoid swimming in pools, lakes, seas or rivers. Swimming can expose your scalp to salt or chlorine water, and this can ruin the results of your micropigmentation procedure. You are not allowed to swim for 7 days from your last operation.

5. You can shave your head from day 4
If you want to shave your head, now is a good time to do so. Make sure you use an electric foil razor as this tool will minimize disruption to your scalp pigments.
