Scalp microblading

If you’re dealing with thinning hair or a receding hairline, scalp microblading could be the best solution.

What is the Scalp Microblading?

Suffering from thinning hair is very common with men and women with long hair. If your hair is thinning and you would like to keep the length without having to wear the shaved buzz look then this is possible using Scalp Microblading or SMB techniques to create the illusion of density by building up treatments and shades of baby hair around and in-between existing hair.
For older clients who are turning grey/white it is advisable to keep the hair colour a darker shade for optimum results.

You’ve probably heard of eyebrow microblading. This is the same technique, but applied to the hairline to fake the look of full, bouncy hair.

Similar to eyebrow microblading, scalp microblading involves scratching the surface of the skin to embed pigments, essentially just like tattooing. However, because microblading is so thin and only penetrates the top layers of the skin, it usually doesn’t last as long as your regular tattoo.

How long does it take? Results may vary, but generally between 18 months to 24 months depending on pigmentation, skin type and lifestyle.

But what’s the exact difference?

“Although both fall under the category of micropigmentation, [microblading and micropigmentation] are very different methods of implanting pigment,” explains Elish a UAE -based SMP practitioner and PMU specialist.

While microblading is typically done with a manual blade, micropigmentation is performed using an electric tattoo device. This is because more power is needed to penetrate the skin on your scalp, which is thicker than the skin under your eyebrows

For whom is Hairline microblading suitable?

“Hairline microblading results look best on clients with existing hair. Microblading strokes extend an existing hairline or add the illusion of depth to thin hair. With the right color match, microblading hair strokes blend seamlessly together to create a lush, thick look. Microblading results are less successful if the client is large. Bald spots, like those areas, are a two-dimensional effect.” So if you have mild thinning or want to smooth out your hairline so you can proudly rock your ponytail, you could be a great candidate for microblading.

Is the Process Painful?
“The hairline is numbed beforehand, and given the thickness of the skin at the treatment area, it is virtually painless. To replicate hair, the microbladed strokes are created very lightly, barely penetrating the skin, and so there is no downtime/recovery period. Microblaiding will done in 2 sessions and between sessions 1 months gaps.

Do you match direction of hair growth?

Yes, direction of hair growth is always taken into consideration for the most realistic results.
